GOOD GIRLS GIVE - WE GIVE DREAM DAYS TO INDIVIDUALS WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES.

The Idea

Wand-waving fairy godmothers and wish-granting genies may only exist in children’s tales, but kind-hearted individuals who want to make dreams come true do exist in reality, and in Los Angeles!

The Specifics

GGG was founded by Laurie Green after learning her friend was suffering with Locked-In Syndrome, unable to walk or talk. Laurie set out to improve his quality of life by raising funds to make possible some of the daily basics in life we so often take for granted. But when GGG also arranged for this former high school baseball champion to watch his two young children throw out the first pitch at Dodgers Stadium, it was her friend’s joy from this “dream day” that set the course of the charity’s future. GGG has not stopped with one individual; instead it has evolved and expanded into a non-profit organization whose mission is to help spread joy by giving individuals with severe disabilities the chance to receive their very own Dream Day.

Please forgive my intrusion, here. I have looked at all of the contestants in this competition. Here is my take on it.... War might be the most severe disability of all disabilities? Sometimes was is necessary. But, without doubt it is terrifying and disabling tens of thousands of people world wide. Please help stop the most disabling disability of all. Let's support the Military Art Car Project and join to make this a first of it's kind effort to help bring peace to the World? Imagine what could happen of we all joined in and worked for this cause? No more war? What a concept? Probably a snowball's chance in hell, I know..... but, oh well. Respectfully.....

Why do you have to rain on someone else's parade ? You voted, now let others vote "for whom they feel, has offedered the best idea, in "their" humble opinion." What is wrong with you ?

Please excuse me once again but there is nothing wrong with me. As per a reply from Goodinc., I quote.... "The purpose of the comment section and reply function are to enable the community to engage in meaningful dialogue about the Challenge and Submissions. Thank you for your participation in GOOD Maker. I was doing exactly that, and nothing more...

"Meaningful dialogue", huh Tom? If naive, pretentious statements claiming your organization's work will "help bring peace to the World" is meaningful, then I was wrong all these years thinking all of those Miss America contestants were so vacuous. Shame on me. I'm looking forward to seeing Al Qeada, the Palestinians and the Iranians put down their suicide vests and rocket launchers once they see the Military Art Car. Probably a snowball's chance in hell, I know.

My name is Travis Puglisi, and I am the Project Manager for the Military Art Car Project. I want to offer my apologies for the attempt of others to solicit votes from the GGG Dream Day project. That was not endorsed by any at the MAC and I am sorry for the ill will that is has created. Before voting had closed I had not taken the time to view the other projects as I was focused on spreading the word about voting for the MAC, but I have really enjoyed stopping in and reading about the all the Good Maker contenders. I hope that we all are able to find the resources to move forward with our respective projects. Again, my apologies and hopes for your success.

Good Girls Give is an amazing non-profit organization. I have seen it with my own eyes what an unbelievable impact they have made on many disabled people's lifes. They have put so many smiles on faces and everyone of them believe in Good Girl's Give. Laurie Green is one in a million and deserves to carry on what she is doing and that is just loving people for whom they are. We hope and pray that they continue to make dreams come true. Thanks for the wonderful work.

I have personally worked with Laurie. Her altruistic attitude and the immense pleasure she derives from the act of giving and of improving the lives of others is beyond inspiring. I can only hope that through Laurie's continued efforts, Good Girls Give goes on to help those with disabilities for many years to come!
