The Idea

Funding will allow the Hell's Kitchen Farm Project, working to create a food secure neighborhood through collaborative farming, education, & community initiatives, the ability to make its 2nd year a success. Our rooftop farm feeds our local food pantries and educates the community on sustainability.

The Specifics

Heading into our second year as a collaborative project, the Hell's Kitchen Farm Project would use this funding to increase our education initiatives and allow us to hold a large variety of workshops with our local communities. Our education initiatives strive to create an urban agriculture and sustainability hub for the neighborhood. We envision a neighborhood where all people have access to fresh, healthy foods and have the tools to grow their own when possible. Making that a reality means increasing our community outreach, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. Our rooftop farm not only feeds our local food pantries, but it also creates a site of democratic education where neighbors, friends, and family come together to learn.
